Milan, 8th February 2012.
Aeffe S.p.A. is pleased to announce that it has signed a licensing agreement with Cutler and Gross for the production and distribution of the new Alberta Ferretti eyewear collection.
The contract with the luxury firm specializing in eyewear will last 4 years, with the option to extend in order to help to grow and develop the creation and distribution of the product.
The collection will debut for the first time in Milan during the fashion week appearing in the Alberta Ferretti autumn winter 2012 fashion show and it can be viewed at the Mido 2012 trade fair in Milan (Fiera Rho-Pero from the 11th to the 13th of March).
“Cutler and Gross is a worldwide leader in the luxury eyewear field thanks to its expression of tradition and quality. They will be able to translate in the best way the elegant and sensual style that has always characterized the world of Alberta Ferretti” declares Massimo Ferretti, president of Aeffe.
The collection is comprised by six sunglass models which reflect the contemporary femininity and elegance that characterized the Alberta Ferretti world. The designs are inspired by the handmade decorations that come from the motives and linear shapes of the ready to wear collection.
Cult eyewear brand Cutler and Gross was founded in 1969 by Graham Cutler and Tony Gross, through their mutual passion for innovative design, they spearheaded the revolution that turned eyewear from medical necessity into a key fashion accessory.
For the last 42 years Cutler and Gross have specialised in handmade eyewear manufacturing, a process that is both expensive and time consuming, but that is completely necessary in order to achieve the timeless high-end look of which they are best known. A Cutler and Gross frame maintains a certain classicism, this is reinforced by the absence of a visible logo, allowing the brand’s reputation of excellence in production and design, speak for itself, an ethos which will also run through the Alberta Ferretti unglass collection.
Aeffe S.p.a, company listed on the Star segment of the Italian Stock Exchange, was founded in 1980 by Alberta Ferretti and his brother Massimo, and is now one of the leading international luxury goods industry, a field where it operates through the roduction and distribution of luxury brands like Alberta Ferretti, Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti, Moschino, Moschino Cheap and Chic, Cacharel, Pollini and Jean Paul Gaultier.
